Halloween Shutters

The Halloween Shutters are done, I did not do  this alone.  While I sat at my day job the hubby ( who works from home.. and work has been S L O W printed, cut, painted and pasted the letters onto the shutters for me :-)
And my youngest son Roman was very upset that this little endeavor "Nerney Dressers" was named from Jeremy's (big brother) nic name. He wants something named after him. SOoooo I told him any time I re-finish a table I'd call it the Roman table... so I now have my Signature Line, the regular pieces, The Roman table and I'm sure comming soon will be the Madeline something!
Happy Halloween!

Country Fresh 4 drawer dresser

This little dresser has been upstyled twice.. First was my attempt to do a numbered drawer dresser. I think It's a good look but  needs some practice.. so the 1 2 3 4 dresser has now become the "country fresh" dresser.  take look at the progression. from Before , to first attempt to completion. The helpers had to be in the picture.  Comments are always welcomed.
Thanks for Looking

Fun with shutters for fall

More Shutters. These smaller shutters are so fun to work with. I got these when we went to Pick up a craigs list Free hampster habitat. ( ok.. we have the hampster home it's still vacant.. even the hampster houseing market is slow.. LOL ) Anyway, along with the hampster gear they had these great shutters out on the curb as well. I am debating on if I am done with it or not.. so I'm not quite sure if this is a before and after photo or a before and during photo.... Thoughts?

100 Year old Shutters

So I saw an add on Craigs list for Shutters approximately 8 of them. I immediatley emailed my husband who happend to be off on this day and at  home. I asked him if he felt like taking a ride to go pick them up and he of course said yes he would :-)
He went to pick them up and learned they were 100 years old. The home owner had picked them up some years ago with the plan to re-finish them and put them on her own home. As it turned out she decided not to, my good luck.
I have started work on two and just wait till you see how it turns out!

Hint this one will hang horizontal.

Still amazed

The newness has not worn off, I am still amazed that when someone comes to purchase one of my pieces they actually do. I still expect them to say oh.. it's not what I was looking for. So far this has not happend! I have some awesome 100+ year old shutters I'm refinishing for wall art. I'll take suggestions if anyone is looking for someting to hang over their mantel, over a bed, over a dooway... any special sayings you would like it say? Just message me.

Back in Business

Ok... so a month or so ago I posted a farewell  put all my projects on the curb and stopped looking at craigs list.. for a day. then I came across a great little buffet it was so perfect to be re done. I argued pleaded and begged the hubby to go with me to pick it up,
ME: can't we please get it? It will sell fast you know it will.
Hubby: shaking his head, where is it going to go? The garage is full where are you going to paint it?
Where will it stay until it sells? ????? ETC ????? ok if you MUST we can pick it up.
:-)
SO we went to go get it. My car is full of baseball gear, bats, batting helmet, gloves the season had just ended, give me a break of course I had not emptied it all out yet, the million books and change of clothes from my ever changing outfit youngest kids... so again the eyes rolling from the hubby why isn't this clean ?
As we arrived at the destination free buffet home, my son pleads he has to go to the potty! OH NO! Now not only do we  have to park in front of this home I have to interact with the homeowner to ask if my child can  use their bathroom. I do this for my son and my husband prepares to pick up the buffet. He opens the tail gate and guess what? the next door neighbor comes home and we are a tad bit in the way of her driveway, being ever so sensitive to these issues my husband immediately jumps into the driver’s seat to move ahead, and the ball bats go rolling out, tink, tink, tink goes the aluminum bat. I come back to the car un-aware of the embarrassment my hubby is now feeling and we drive off. At the end of the story, the buffet is painted, the buyer comes today and the hubby is searching for more. Stay tuned!

Before and after

Here is what I think is the dramatic before and after for two of my pieces.. although the Teal dresser is not selling so as soon as conditons (weather) permit I'm going to re do the Teal dresser to black.
